ASSA ABLOY Authorized Distributor Sourcing Guide
Updated
Match ASSA ABLOY channel roles, Corbin Russwin and SARGENT key-system authorization packets, and HID RMA routing before approving an access-control quotation.

To source ASSA ABLOY door hardware or electronic access control through an authorized channel, match the quoted seller to the published partner role for the product family, collect the Corbin Russwin or SARGENT master-key authorization packet when restricted products are involved, and route HID warranty returns through the Channel Partner that sold the hardware.
Use this guide when reviewing an ASSA ABLOY door hardware or HID access-control quotation. Work through the channel role, key-system authorization and RMA checks below, then keep the responses with your purchasing file. Start your shortlist in the Access Control distributor listings.

Collect Corbin Russwin and SARGENT master-key authorization packets
All Corbin Russwin master keyed items require DHI keyset symbols when placing a PO, and if not using Pro-Tech and an order has 11+ IDK lines, a PO supporting schedule via Excel is requested.
Master Keyed Order Leadsheets are required with every master keyed order (one leadsheet, one system per order), along with job name and full address including city, state and zip code.
Corbin Russwin Manufacturing will assign keyways unless a customer specific keyway is noted, and use of restricted keyways (39, 93, F and J) requires pre-approval by Corbin Russwin.
Corbin Russwin Access 3 AS/AHS and Pyramid products require authorization, and for NEW Access3 and Pyramid systems the System Information Document must be included with the P.O.
For EXISTING Corbin Russwin systems, if cylinders, keys, keyblanks or bitting lists are NOT shipping directly to the end user, authorization documents must be provided in the form of a Letter of Authorization (LOA) or through the ROA Portal.
A Corbin Russwin Authorization Letter must be completed on the end-user company letterhead and requires the Access 3 Job ID System Registry # and one Random Security code (if applicable), Pyramid System Registry Number, Security Product Registry Number, Protected Keyway Registry Number or Keyway Section, and Expiration Date.

Under Corbin Russwin Section 7, two (2) Cut Change Keys come standard per lock/exit/cylinder, key blanks cannot be substituted for cut keys, and no cut keys are provided when keyed to Master Key only or XnX type of cross keying.
Under Corbin Russwin Section 9, when ordered as CMK, keys will be packed and shipped separately from product at no charge, whereas packing standard keys separately incurs Price Book charges.

Sargent Degree Product is available with a 0 cut depth for a DG1 system only and is not available for use in a DG2 or DG3 security level product.
Confirm HID support path and Channel Partner RMA routing
The HID Customer Command Center (CCC) self-service portal allows users to Track Orders in Real Time, Submit a Case to Customer Service, Request a Return (RMA), Request a Price Book, and Subscribe to Reports.
Before contacting HID Technical Support, users should prepare product model, serial number, firmware or software version, and a brief description of the issue.
Under HID PACS Support Terms, HID provides technical support to direct customers (OEM, Distributors, Resellers, System Integrators), while HID Direct customers provide technical support to HID indirect customers or End Users.
HID responds to an HID Direct Customers online case within one business day with the case reference, update, proposed mitigation/solution, or request for additional information.
HID PACS Warranty-Return Hardware covers Readers, Credentials, Controllers and Encoders; if the Customer purchased the hardware through a Channel Partner, all RMA requests should be handled by the Channel Partner.
Return shipment of HID PACS Warranty-Return Hardware must be made within thirty (30) calendar days of RMA issuance in testable condition, and the Customer agrees to pay a minimum of $20 USD for any hardware evaluated by HID and determined not to be defective or covered by warranty.
HID PACS Non-Warranty Return Hardware covers Signo Readers with standard range and Non-Customized Physical Credentials purchased within ninety (90) calendar days from the date of invoice, returned within thirty (30) calendar days of RMA issuance.
Under HID Secure Issuance (SI) Support Terms, HID does not provide Level 1 and Level 2 technical support to indirect customers or End Users; HID customers must provide Level 1 and Level 2 support to their customers, and HID provides Level-3 support to indirect purchasers.
For a separate ADI account check used by low-voltage installers, use the ADI account approval guide. Retain the Channel Partner RMA confirmation with the packing list at receiving.

In our directory, we list 189 published company profiles tagged with Access Control, and category listings alone do not confirm stock availability, authorization, or company capabilities.
In our channel records, a brand-confirmed relationship comes from a direct brand statement, while a source-supported relationship comes from the brand's own published directory or announcement.
Before approving the order, record the warranty period for each ordered family and the cylinder combination rules that apply to the quote. Read what a listing means when using directory evidence.
Before releasing the purchase order, retain the matched channel role, master-key authorization packet, Channel Partner RMA path and warranty period for each ordered family.
Frequently asked questions
Which ASSA ABLOY partner role covers Aperio electronic access control?
Aperio and other certified ASSA ABLOY electronic access control lines are handled by two partner tiers: Certified Integrators (who also install and commission systems) and Authorized Channel Partners for Electronic Access Control (who sell and support the hardware).
When is a Corbin Russwin Letter of Authorization required?
Existing Corbin Russwin key systems require a Letter of Authorization on end-user letterhead (or an ROA Portal submission) whenever cylinders, keys, key blanks, or bitting lists ship to any address other than the end user directly.
Who handles HID warranty returns when hardware was bought through a Channel Partner?
When HID PACS readers, credentials, controllers, or encoders are bought through a Channel Partner, that partner submits and manages the RMA, and defective units must be returned in testable condition within 30 calendar days of RMA issuance.
Do our Access Control directory listings confirm authorization?
No. Our 189 Access Control category profiles identify market participants without confirming active authorization or stock; check each record's evidence label to distinguish direct brand confirmation from source-supported directory citations.
