How Axis project pricing works: prepare the distributor handoff
Updated
Prepare an Axis project pricing request, map integrator and distributor responsibilities, hand over the BOM, and track quote revisions without assuming approval.

Axis project pricing follows partner project registration, individual Axis review, a quote to distribution partners and review of subsequent revisions. Match the distributor’s written quote to the accepted BOM and project revision before placing the order.
This guide is for security integrators preparing a distributor handoff after initial system design. If you still need a supplier shortlist, start with security camera distributor research. Use the responsibility table, input checklist and revision log to connect the current BOM to the distributor’s quotation.
DistributorIndex is a manufacturer; this guide is part of our brand and channel resource library. The Axis Communications distributor hub links company records and their sources. Confirm Channel Partner Program membership and pricing-tool permissions through Axis Partner Web.
Establish partner access before preparing the request
Axis describes its Channel Partner Program as intended for businesses delivering complete end-customer solutions through design, integration, installation and support. Its public program page says applicants receive more specific requirements during application. A directory listing is not an application or an eligibility decision.
The public project-registration guide says project pricing is a benefit available at all partner levels and that partners apply in the Axis Project Pricing Tool on Partner Web. Confirm your own access and the current process for your country with Axis or your distributor. Check the permissions shown for your company’s Partner Web account.

| Decision | What establishes it | Do not assume |
|---|---|---|
| Company participation | Axis confirmation of Channel Partner Program membership | A company appearing in this directory qualifies |
| User access | The permissions available to your own Partner Web account | A My Axis login alone grants every tool |
| Project pricing request | Submission and the project’s recorded review status | Registration is automatic approval |
| Order terms | The distributor’s current written quotation | A project reference alone establishes price, validity or stock |
Project pricing versus a standard distributor quote
Axis’s project-registration guide describes project pricing for strategic projects. It identifies competition, system design and integration work as relevant project information. Each opportunity is evaluated individually by Axis’s pricing team, sales and management, with a quote provided to distribution partners. Axis evaluates the pricing and timing for each project individually.
For comparison with an ordinary distributor quote, our recommendation is to keep the equipment scope identical and record which quotation is tied to the project reference. Ask the distributor to state the applicable quantities, currency, validity, delivery terms and exclusions in writing. Use those commercial terms to compare quotations for the same project scope.
For a multi-vendor IT and security project, use the deal-registration channel partner and distributor guide to keep eligibility, opportunity approval, quote validity and scope changes in separate records before releasing the order.
Keep NFR separate. Axis’s Partner Web guide describes NFR as demonstration equipment; it is a different tool and purpose from project pricing. Do not apply an NFR discount or demo eligibility condition to an end-customer project quotation.
Who owns each handoff?
The table maps the public process to three participants. The review and revision roles come from Axis’s project-registration guide; the document-control actions are our procurement recommendations. Use the responsibility sheet together with the instructions for your region.

| Stage | Integrator | Axis pricing, sales and management | Distributor |
|---|---|---|---|
| Prepare | Describe the project, design and integration work; identify the current BOM | Clarify eligibility or access through the appropriate regional contact | Confirm the submission route and accepted files |
| Register and review | Submit through the available route; retain the project reference and status | Review each opportunity individually; provide the quote to distribution partners | Receive the Axis quote and clarify the buyer-facing quotation |
| Check the quotation | Compare the returned scope with the submitted BOM | Resolve project-pricing questions through the review process | Confirm the written price and commercial terms for this purchase |
| Revise | Explain changed scope and follow revisions in the tool where access permits | Review revision requests sent to the dedicated pricing team | The public guide says distributors can revise projects directly in the tool |
| Release an order — recommended control | Match the order to the accepted BOM and quote revision | Recorded project-pricing decision | Confirm which quoted revision the order uses |
A request, an Axis project status and a distributor quotation are different records. Our recommendation is to retain all three and resolve any mismatch before placing an order. Use how to verify a distributor listing to check the company separately from the project decision.
Hand over the BOM through the route you can access
The AXIS Site Designer manual documents two submission routes. Open the project, go to Reports and the Bill of materials tab, then select Request project pricing. With the required Partner Web access, choose Open Axis Project Pricing Tool and complete the project details; the manual says the BOM is included automatically.
For a request through a distributor, the same manual says to choose Download the BOM file and attach it when submitting the request to the distributor. Its BOM documentation describes JSON export as well as Excel and print options. Confirm which file your distributor accepts; do not substitute a spreadsheet or PDF for the tool’s BOM file without agreement.
Button availability depends on account permissions. If the documented option is missing, ask Axis or the distributor to confirm your access and the submission route before sending the BOM.

Prepare one traceable project packet
Competition, system design and integration work are the project background categories named in Axis’s public guide. The other rows below are our suggested handoff controls. Complete the checklist from your current project files and the distributor’s written quotation.
Scroll horizontally to see all table columns on smaller screens.
| Item | Why it belongs in the handoff | Record or example format |
|---|---|---|
| Competition context — publicly named category | Explains the opportunity Axis is being asked to review | Project competition summary |
| System design — publicly named category | Connects the requested equipment to the proposed solution | Current design summary and BOM |
| Integration work — publicly named category | Describes the integrator’s work on the opportunity | Scope summary |
| BOM revision — recommended | Distinguishes the current equipment set from earlier files | Project-name_BOM_Rev-A; exact quantities and product references from your design |
| Project reference and distributor — recommended | Connects the packet to the correct request and trading company | Reference assigned to the project |
| Country, delivery destination and required schedule — recommended | Gives the distributor context for its commercial reply | Your actual project location and requested dates |
| Quotation terms to confirm — recommended | Prevents assumptions about price, currency, validity and availability | Record only the distributor’s written terms |
| Change summary — recommended | Makes the difference from the prior packet explicit | Added, removed or changed lines and the reason |
Keep confidential end-customer details and commercial information in the verified recipient’s private channel. The brand and country page guide explains how to narrow directory research by market; it cannot establish the correct pricing route or account permissions.
Track revisions before releasing the purchase order
The public project-registration guide says distributors can revise projects in the Project Pricing Tool, integrators can follow those revisions, and revision requests are automatically sent to a dedicated pricing team for review. A changed BOM therefore needs a documented revision path; do not assume a previously quoted price applies to the changed scope.
Copy the revision log and add one row per change, using the BOM files, project status and written replies to keep the order aligned with the accepted scope.
Scroll horizontally to see all table columns on smaller screens.
| Record field | Your entry | What closes the entry |
|---|---|---|
| Project reference / distributor | Both parties identify the same opportunity | |
| Previous BOM filename and revision | Previous scope is retrievable | |
| New BOM filename and revision | Changed scope is retrievable | |
| Changed lines, quantities and reason | Distributor understands what changed | |
| Date sent and responsible recipient | The correct recipient acknowledges receipt | |
| Pricing review status and evidence | Actual tool record or written reply | |
| Returned quote reference, revision and validity | Written quote matches the revised scope | |
| Order reference and accepted BOM / quote revision | Order and accepted documents agree |

If the quote, quantities or revision references disagree, hold the order while the distributor resolves the discrepancy. The evidence labels in how we verify listings and what a listing means describe company research records; they do not validate quotation terms.
Your distributor handoff
Send your requirements in the completed packet to your chosen Axis distributor: competition context, system design, integration scope, current BOM and revision, project reference if assigned, country, delivery destination, requested schedule and change summary. Ask the distributor to confirm the accepted file format, who submits or revises the request, and which written quote and revision apply. Submit the packet through the distributor’s agreed private channel.
Sources and applicable market
Axis source documents: Channel Partner Program, Project registration step by step guide, pages 1–2; Your guide to Axis Partner Web, pages 4–5; and the AXIS Site Designer manual, Bill of materials and Request project pricing sections.
The project-registration and Partner Web guides carry a 2023 copyright; the Site Designer manual describes the BOM submission routes. Confirm current regional policies and account permissions with Axis or the distributor. Project discounts, approval, quote validity and stock are determined through Axis and the applicable distributor’s current program. The responsibility sheet, packet checklist and revision log are editorial tools.
